Hi, I'm

Manas Marawaha

Principal Embedded Engineer · Linux Firmware & Device Driver Expert

I specialise in Linux embedded systems with a focus on high-performance network device drivers: 1G/10G Ethernet, SFP modules and FPGA-based TCP Offload Engine integration. I also work on audio and video pipelines, including FPGA-based HD/4K video-over-IP products where low-latency, high-throughput networking is central to the design. Alongside driver work, I cover the full embedded stack: hardware bring-up, bootloader, kernel and firmware.

I create courses on topics related to Linux and write about linux kernel internals and performance on this blog.

Linux Debug Training

A structured course series co-created with John O'Sullivan to consolidate Linux debugging expertise into one curriculum. Course material is free and open (CC BY-SA 4.0); video lectures are on Udemy.

Part 1 · Fundamentals

Linux Debug Training — Part 1

Essential skills for debugging Linux systems: diagnosing segmentation faults, working with core dumps, and mastering foundational tools like GDB. Builds core competencies for troubleshooting user-space problems.

Part 2 · Advanced

Linux Debug Training — Part 2

Advanced techniques covering user & kernel-space tracing, memory/CPU/hardware performance profiling, data visualisation for bottleneck analysis, kernel-level debugging, sanitisers (KASAN, UBSAN, KCSAN), and kernel crash diagnosis.
